Do you provide long term support for my website?

We don’t provide long-term support for free, no. However, unless you’re building something highly complex, you shouldn’t need our support. We’ll be showing you how to make edits to your own website so that you’ll never need to hire another web developer. WordPress is quite easy to use, and we’ll be providing you with the training you need in order to manage your own website (which is pretty easy). We can provide support for a rate of $40/hr, that's $10/hr off our normal web design rate of $50/hr...

Do I need to have my website content ready?

Nope, there’s no rush. You’ll be able to update/change the content on your website whenever you like. We’ll show you how to upload and change content so that you can do it at at your own pace once your website is ready. It’s quite easy, and you’ll need no knowledge of coding.

How will the website be turned over to me?

We set up the website for you, including doing both backend and frontend work. At that point, all you have to do is to edit the text on your website, upload photos, etc. We send you a very detailed instructional video showing you how to do this, including some great resources for where to find high quality free photos you can use.

Will I be able to make edits to my website?

Absolutely. When we finish the website, we’ll send you a detailed video breaking down how to make additional edits yourself (so you don’t need to hire a web developer). You’ll be in full control, in other words, and you’ll have the training you need to continue to make refinements and updates yourself to whatever you wish: the buttons, text, content, photos, and every other element of the website.

Will I have full control over my website?

Yes, 100%. Once we’re done working on your website, you’ll delete our user account (which is what gives us access to the back-end of your website) and we’ll have no additional ability to make edits or changes. We will not own your website nor control it in any way.

How long will it take to build my free website?

Assuming you get back to our emails promptly, we aim for a completion time of about 3 weeks. If you take longer to think about your content, design, logo, etc., that’s no problem for us and we can work at your pace.

How does the website design process work?

The best way to ensure that your website looks really good is to use a professionally designed template. These are website designs built by professional graphic designers and they will make your website look great. We give people the option of either using a free WordPress template, their own pre-purchased template, or Divi, which is a hugely popular webpage-builder that we love. Do I need to be tech savvy to launch a website?

Nope, definitely not. We walk you through everything you’ll need to do in a clear, step-by-step way. Plus, once we’re done working on your website, we’ll send you a detailed instruction video showing you how to make additional edits and changes to your website so that you won’t ever need to hire a website developer. What kind of websites do you build?

We build people simple but professional websites as part of our free-website program. We don’t do highly complex websites with lots of bells and whistles.

What platform do you use to build websites?

We use WordPress, the most popular content management system for websites. In fact, about 30% of the internet runs on WordPress. In our opinion, it’s the best platform to use for the vast majority of websites (unless you’re looking to build something that’s super complex). WordPress is free to use, and we’ll be able to load it onto your web hosting platform once you’ve signed up for web hosting.

How long does it take for you to review an application?

We review most applications within 2-3 business days and accept approximately 15-20% of applicants.

What do you look for in an application?

We carefully review every application that comes our way. Our Applications Committee considers the following: - Do we like the concept for the website? - Is it ethical? - Is this a highly complex website that’s outside the scope of our free-website program?

Do I need to have a domain name already?

If you’ve already bought a domain name, that’s great. If you haven’t chosen one yet, that’s completely fine. We’ll show you how to do that and you can purchase one with us.

Are there any hidden costs or subscription fees?

Nope. We won’t have you sign any kind of payment contracts with us. Nothing like that. What you will need to do is to sign up for website hosting (which is what you’ll need to put any website on the internet). If you want, you can also pay for a professional website template for us to build your website on. We usually recommend Divi for this. But you can also choose a free template, like one of the ones offered by WordPress. That’s 100% up to you.

I want a website but don't want to sign up for web hosting

To have a website online you have to pay for web hosting. It's a requirement and a must to have ANY website on the internet. There are 3 elements to have a website on the internet... That is: 1. Web Design 2. Web Hosting 3. Domain Name While we offer a free site setup, you'll still need to purchase a domain name and web hosting services. We offer both of these at great prices! What if I change my mind about having a website and want to cancel?

Our web hosting service is VERY affordable. If you change your mind, we understand. Since we are a service based business and we provide services and do not issue refunds for the services that we provide. Our website design process typically takes up to 15-20 days to complete.

I already have web hosting with you.

If you are already paying for web hosting service with us, we can still work with you. Go ahead and submit your application and indicate that you already have web hosting setup. We'll reach out to you if we think you'll be a good fit. We respond to EVERY application whether we accept you or not.

I already have web hosting elsewhere. Am I still eligible?

You will need to sign up for our web hosting service in order to qualify for the free website offer. This is a REQUIREMENT and a MUST to have your website online.

How do I know this is legitimate?

You can trust us or not. It's that simple. We also have client reviews and testimonials for you to review on our website as well.

How can you afford this?

To put a website online – and to keep it online – you’ll need web hosting, which costs a few dollars per month. We cover our website development costs by asking you to sign up for web hosting with us as well. That’s it! We simply recoup some of our costs by you signing up for monthly web hosting service.
